File: The Space Station v2
Version: 0
Garrysmod.org URL: http://www.garrysmod.org/downloads/?a=view&id=131700
Description: This is the second version of The Space Station with the biggest change/update being the addition of Life-Support systems to the station; see the bottom of this section for a more detailed change-log.

PLEASE NOTE: It is IMPORTANT that the bottom of this section, the ‘Other’ section be read as to ensure full functionality of The Space Station.

This is a rather large, well built, advanced and secure space station. Many additional screenshots have been included within this download.

The Space Station has been designed in such a way that its strongest/greatest attribute is its high-tech security systems.

--------------Facilities--------------

Hub 1 - This Hub provides access to the Bridge, Emergency Teleporter Room 1, Self-Destruct Room, Engineering, Science, ZPM Room and to the Hub-joining Corridor. Both Hub 1 and Hub 2 contain screens which display the current status of the station, for example, if a Lockdown has been activated.

Hub 2 - This Hub provides access to the Ring Room, Hangar Bay + Dock, Stargate Area and to the Hub-joining Corridor.

Hub-joining Corridor - This corridor joins the 2 Hubs and provides access to the Infirmary, Holding-Cells Area and to Emergency Teleporter Room 2.

Bridge - The Bridge is the central command and control centre of the Space Station; it allows the control of the station’s Life-Support and Resource-Generation systems, Hangar Bays and the Docking area, as well as the Station’s security features, which will be described later in this document, as well as providing various control of other areas of the Space Station.

The Bridge also controls access to the Self-Destruct Room, ZPM Room, Emergency Teleporter Rooms, the Holding-Cells Area and to Engineering. As well as all of this, the Bridge’s General Security console also displays live Alarm statuses; this means that when an alarm is activated, this screen will state in which area that respective alarm was activated.

Engineering - Engineering houses the Life-Support and Resource-Generation systems; access to this area isn’t generally required as control to these systems remains within the Bridge. Solar power, Tritium and Oxygen are the default resources used to provide station-wide Life-Support; Solar power begins to collect and store immediately, without user interaction, while Tritium and Oxygen only begins to generate when the appropriate action is taken within the Bridge.

Solar panels have been placed throughout the exterior of the station allowing for a large amount of energy to be produced constantly and automatically; this Solar power alone, when operating effectively, should be enough to power all of the Resource-Generation and Life-Support systems within The Space Station.

Tritium is the resource used, by default, to generate Oxygen. Water storage has been created, and the Engineering bay itself is also large enough to support additional Resource-Generation and/or Life-Support systems.

The bay is also equipped with a large security-door to provide additional security to these vital systems. The Engineering access-door is locked by default.

When the Resource-Generation, Life-Support and/or Gravity commands are initiated, from the Bridge, the respective devices will wait for a pre-defined amount of appropriate resources to build-up before activating; if these resources fall below the pre-defined amount, the devices will shut down and will continually ‘check’ until there are a suitable amount of resources again; this basically means that, once you activate the buttons on the Bridge, you can leave them knowing that they will activate when they can.

Suit dispensers have been placed in the different departure areas of The Space Station; these areas include: the Emergency Teleporter Rooms, the Gate Room, the Hangar Bays, the Ring Room, and also within the Bridge. Resource Pumps have also been placed in the Hangar Bays to allow ships to refuel.

ZPM Room - The ZPM Room contains an Atlantis ZPM Hub which is capable of storing and using up to 3 ZPMs simultaneously.

Science - This room currently only contains an Atlantis hologram terminal, but is large enough to accommodate any other devices that may be needed.
Infirmary - The Infirmary currently only contains the Telchak Healing Device, but is large enough to accommodate appropriate furnishings such as beds.

Emergency Teleporter Room 1 - This is a rather small room that contains an Asgard Teleporter Device; the device will teleport its operator to pre-defined locations (read below) unless otherwise programmed. This Room is located between the Bridge and Hub 1.

This version of The Space Station was mainly tested on the sb_twinsuns_fixed, and as such, the pre-defined locations that the Asgard Teleporters will teleport to are any of 1 of 9 possible random locations within the spawn area of that respective map; this location changes randomly every 1 tenth of a second.

The pre-defined location that the teleporter will teleport to can be changed by linking the appropriate output of a GPS wire device, or any other appropriate wire device, to the only available input of a control-chip which is located on the Emergency Systems Control console within the Bridge; once properly wired-up, the teleporters will then teleport to the location of that respective wire device.

Emergency Teleporter Room 2 - This room is identical to Emergency Teleporter Room 1, but is instead located between Hub 1 and Hub 2, being connected to the Hub-joining Corridor, which is essentially the centre of The Space Station.

Self-Destruct Room - The Self-Destruct Room contains a 100-megaton Naquadah-Enhanced Nuclear Warhead which is programmed with a 120 second count-down; this count-down timer can be viewed live from the Bridge.

The current code required to activate the Self-Destruct is ‘979’, and the code required to deactivate the Self-Destruct is ‘797’; unfortunately, at this time, these codes cannot be changed by the player; this may be changed in the future.

Holding-Cells Area - The Holding-Cells Area can only be reached by use of the elevator and contains 3 holding-cells which can only be opened and closed from the Holding-Cells Area control room; this room also controls a door which secures access to the holding-cells area and can call the elevator down; the elevator can also be called-down from the elevator itself, and can only be called-up from the Bridge.

Stargate Area - The Stargate Area contains a Pegasus Stargate; the default address for this Stargate is THESACP#, which is basically THESPACESTATION# with any repeated letters removed, and the Stargate set as a Pegasus Stargate. The Stargate itself will light-up when the ZPM hub has been activated; this represents the Stargate’s ability to successfully dial other Stargates set within other galaxies.

The Gate Room itself contains a Kino Dispenser which is capable of dispensing Kinos; Kinos are small devices which can be directly controlled by the player and allows that respective player to view an on-board camera remotely while controlling the hovering device itself.

The Stargate has been programmed to automatically close after 64 seconds of being active unless the Evacuation Procedure has been activated. If an incoming-wormhole is established, an alarm unique to that instance will activate and the instance will be announced.

The Stargate Area’s control room allows players to view the Stargate connection time, dial an address, close the Stargate, lock the Gate Room security doors and contains a GDO Computer which allows the user to toggle the iris, create new GDO Codes, set the iris to automatically close, etc.

Ring Room - The Ring Room contains an Ori Ring platform and Goa’uld Ring-control Device. The default address of the Space Station’s Rings is “1453”; Stargate fans should know why this is.

Hangar Bay + Dock - The Hangar Bay contains 2 large bays with 2 large doors which can only be controlled from the Bridge. The Hangar Bay also contains a Dock which allows space vessels to directly dock with the Space Station; this too can only be controlled from the Bridge.

--------------Security Features--------------

Alarm - Buttons have been placed throughout the Space Station which activate a Station-wide alarm and makes any active Bridge Personnel aware of the location of the alarm.

Manual Door Locks - The Engineering security door and entrances to the Stargate Area, Hangar Bays and Dock, and to the Ring Room have door-locking controls placed outside of them allowing a player to prevent exiting these respective areas.

These controls have been placed in these areas to allow players who witness a security threat to potentially contain it more quickly and effectively compared to requesting a station-wide lockdown. These controls will also automatically activate the station-wide alarm and will act the same as other alarm controls - alerting Bridge personnel to the location of the origin of the alarm.

Lockdown - The Lockdown will lock ALL of the Space Station’s doors and will prevent any movement between the different compartments of the Space Station. The Lockdown will also activate a Station-wide alarm, unique to that function.

Jamming Devices - These devices are placed throughout the exterior of The Space Station and are capable of preventing Asgard teleportation to and from the station; these devices can be activated from the bridge and are activated by default when the Lockdown command is activated.

Evacuation Procedure - The Evacuation Procedure will activate a Station-wide alarm, unique to that function, will dial a pre-defined Stargate address (read below), and will allow access to the 2 Emergency Teleporter Rooms.

This version of The Space Station was mainly tested on the sb_twinsuns_fixed, and as such, the pre-defined dialling address of the Stargate is “EARTH0M#”. As it stands, the player is not able to change this; this may be changed in later versions.

It should be noted that as
