There is a portal demo out now, "Portal The First Slice" does anyone want to try download that and see if you can download the fullgame with cracked steam? I have got Portal gcfs already and don't want to delete just to try this.

At my school they had traffic charging for internet usage but they only monitored port 80 so you could run Tor and set it as your proxy and get free unfiltered internet :P

No this is not possible, however if you are strictly goign to be playing offline you may as well just copy the SteamApps folder and use SteamBuster or UCL or similar emulator to launch steam games direct from the GCF.

It is possible to share folders such as materials,models,sound with the use of NTFS junctions. Look on google for NTFSLink and that will allow you to create the shared folders :)
I do not see the advantage to making a standalone now that emulators support GCF files though, what are the advantages??
Best method of keeping a stolen account is to set steam friends to not auto sign in, don't change the password or email or any info on the account (especially not steam friends name, ughhh).

steam isnt over 900mb.. that must've come with content, just get the SteamInstaller.msi and install that. It's like 50-100mb (installed, download itself is like 10mb or so -- From what I recall, don't quote me!)
