Following that thought, opening notepad using start menu or hotkey I mentioned is better as afterwards it leaves only one file on your desktop, instead of two. I also believe that for a computer newbie it might appear uncertain whether these files may be deleted safely or not after following...

Whatever, it seems any further discussion is pretty pointless :p By the way, what's the point of creating two text files? You can "save" and rename the first one (as long as extensions are toggled visible) or press +R, type "notepad" press Enter.

I'd rather say these are plain instructions on how to do it. Basically, you provide the code needed to activate windows; from a tutorial I would expect to learn a new skill reading it, such as an ability to produce such code myself. I'm not saying it would be better or easier, though. Again...
