Because vista is constantly being updated and has improved a shitload over it's initial release. Besides, with a computer like that, you don't even notice the difference between XP and vista :). And yeah well... my PC cost me $3500 bout march last year, still plays everything on highest...

You need to buy it. There's no such thing as a free cs key UNLESS... Someone who bought the game, hasn't registered their key (and is a nice person) gives you one :).

Mines about 33gigs. If you keep it on the same partition, but just move it out of the steam directory, it should only take a couple of minutes, 10mins max I reckon. That is assuming he doesn't have a really slow outdated PC. :).

REALLY Easy thing to try. Cut your 'Steamapps' folder and move it somewhere safe, ie - Out of the steam directory. Now... Delete EVERYTHING EXCEPT Steam.exe. Now just run steam.exe and let it do it's thing. When and IF it starts up, close it down, put your steamapps folder back into it's...

I'm not stupid, in fact I play metal music in my band (melodic death metal to be precise). I'm asking what the download is exactly, is it a mixture of metal tracks or a specific band or what?

Are you all using the same account? If you've just copied your steam folder and distriputed it to your friends, (and are all using the same account) there is no way you can change the ID's because it is registered to the original account only. If you just want to play lan/host with friends...
