A new beta for Counter-Strike 1.6 has been released, mainly for Steamworks integration and for the dedicated server component for Linux...

Here are the specific changes:

Integrated Steam Community features into Counter-Strike
- In-game player name now automatically uses player's Steam Community name
- Avatars are displayed on the scoreboard)

Other fixes
- Prevented some cvar exploits (thanks to AnAkIn for pointing them out)

To opt into the Beta, run steam://install/150

besides, the beta is over, this has been intergraded into cs 1.6
