1.a ) Many people come here wondering how to get free games from steam. And i'll explain once again.. In order to get a free game you need to download the proper GCF (game cache file, *.gcf) or NCF (similar to a GCF but doesn't contain the same info, *.ncf). In essence, these files are what contain all the games files , think of them as an archive such as a zip or rar file. Here at Freesteam we have a forum dedicated to links for these files (we do not host these files!).
1.b ) Once you have successfully downloaded all the game files and have extracted them somewhere you will now need to get a patcher or emulator. A patcher will patch local steam files to make it think that you have the subscriptions for all games. Since this is obviously not true, it is 100% advised that you create a separate account from one which you use to play legitimately. An emulator will allow you to play the games without having to actually patch Steam's file and connect to Valve's network. This is more secure for you and your accounts, however, you will not be able to play on any cracked servers.

At the moment it seems like HookEmu is a viable solution for people who are looking to play offline games. All you need to do is extract and run the launcher, just make sure to put ClientRegistry.Blob in the SAME folder as Launcher.exe. Double click "click here to change game settings" and choose the path in which you extracted your game files to. You should then be able to launch the game right from HookEmu!

If you're using cracked Steam to launch games, extract the GCFs you have downloaded into the SteamApps folder for Steam (C:\Program Files\Steam\Steamapps, C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\Steamapps). If Steam is running while you're doing this you must exit Steam completely and re-open it to see any new games that you have added into the Steamapps folder. If you don't restart it you'll just see the same games. Now if everything is done right, you should be able to launch the game of your choosing and play.

2.a ) Cafes are an interesting topic to talk about still. Basically they are accounts that allows you to play many games on secure servers. When used correctly, registering for cafe accounts is relatively simple granted you own a cyber cafe. If you don't you have to make up information and it get really confusing. Freesteam used to own a cyber cafe account and used to give access to that cafe to VIP memebers. But, as we all know technology changes and we were unable to continue doing this.

2.b ) There are many types of ways to get access to all the games currently available to Steam, but they can be unclear. Two major ways of playing games without buying them are by patching or emulation. Patching requires modifying Steam's dlls to make it think you own all the available subscriptions. Emulating usually just requires that you have a third party app, once the app is started you will be shown all the games you have GCFs/NCFs for. This way is much safer than patching because you aren't actually connecting to Steam's login or content servers thus making it nearly impossible to get your account disabled.

Will keep adding with time! Comments/Suggestions let me know!
