But how can i play l4d2 on a cracked steam?
I thought i only need the ncf files......

no you need common folder too

steam can see your games by looking to your ncf (3rd party) and gcf (valve games) files
ncf files needs a common fodler (game files to be exactly) while gcf files has the game inside the gcf files
therefore the name

NCF = No Cache File
GCF = Game Cache File
