Looking for only offline mode steam

Hello everybody,

I have done a considerable amount of searching and I have so far come up with nothing.
I am looking for a steam crack that is only a way to play offline, permanently. I don't want to have any free games, or anything like that, just online. I also don't want to have to make lots of stand-alones because of a lack of space on the computer in question.
I have seen one thing (on this site) that looks like what I am looking for (by skoop), but the link is dead.

So you want to use your normal steam offline? You can that easily.

Pretty much, but steam's offline mode sucks, and keeps telling me that I can't play games while in offline mode.
Is there a tutorial or a client I can download/read?
