Ok i know lots are getting this error but i want answers!
so i got c steam so i could get portal source free (i already had the game for free) i tried it and got the source sdk base and source sdk base orange box.
then i try to get source sdk. it says blah blah blah i hit next then balh blah blah next then loading and then...
source sdk installing...
(stuck) so i quitt that then drag the gcf file that i had downloaded into the csteam steam apps folder.
i relaunched steam and it says...
download starting...
(stuck) so i did what i did with the other ones i hit launch tool. instead of "tool will launch when finished" it says "the csteam servers are currently too busy to handle your request. Try again in a few minutes" but of course i know that "a few minutes" is NOT the problem, because who would be occupying the servers at 3:00 in the morning!?
i tried again anyway but no luck.
i do have the gcf files (that i got somewhere else):
source sdk base
source sdk base 2007
source sdk
and them all extracted.
all in a folder just in case so they might prove useful.
by the way i did drag in the gcf's the same way for the other two but they still had to download. but mabye they just had to update.
solutions anyone???
