I recently got half life 2 and i was playin it and i got pretty far then a few days later when i went to open it it said something like cannot find background material/consolebackground_widescreen1.vtf or whatever how can i fix this

it sux cos i used up alot of internet getting thast game and 2 others now i have to wait till next month lol

Other options:

Fix the error with your programming skills.
Buy the game (which you just lost again)
Hijack someone's internet using wifi and download the game again (which you just lost again)
Take your computer to another location, plug the internet in and download!
Or finally recreate the whole of the half life 2 game by making your own engine, missions, audio, and storyline.

I like the last option. You should throw in a multiplayer too while you're at it.

Oh and then do a spin off thingy with some terrorists and some good guys, I bet people will love it

well dont take this to serius cos i will give up lol but i would start making my own game becasue i have mudbox and softimage form autodesk so i could make people with those things but the scripting i cant do and audio would be easy but take time
